  Youth Ministry

Hello,

Thanks for your interest in the Youth Ministry at Prince George’s Community Church. We are excited about what God is doing at PGCC, and especially in the Youth Ministry. As you navigate through our website, you will see there are some great programs and events happening at PGCC. Please plan on being a part of some of these upcoming activities. Our church has a desire to help as many as possible know, love, and enjoy the living God and each other, by strengthening our community one person at a time.

I would love to be of personal help to you as you become involved here at Prince George’s Community Church. If you have any questions about the Youth Ministry or how to get plugged in, please feel free to call me at 301-306-0064 or email at [email protected]. We are prayerful that God will direct you and your family to become a part of our church and the Youth Ministry on a regular basis.

Sincerely – In Christ,

Willie J. Thompson Jr., Youth Pastor

What is The Youth In Action and Parents In Action?

Youth In Action, (YIA) of the Youth Revolution, is a committee of young people (6) that is responsible for the planning and implementation of events for the Youth Ministry. These young persons are spiritually gifted, mature, and have a strong sense of their relationship with Jesus Christ, through a consistent lifestyle of prayer, Biblical study, and Christian Character. The members of the YIA are actively involved in academics (academia) and liturgy. The Biblical foundation upon which the YIA rest is 1st Timothy 4:12. 1st Timothy 4:12 (King James Version), 12. Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

Parents In Action, (PIA) of The Revolution is a committee of parents (6) that is responsible for the planning and implementation of events for the Youth Ministry. These parents are spiritually gifted in assessing, addressing, and executing the needs of effective Youth Ministry. Like the YIA they have a strong sense of their relationship with Jesus Christ, by leading a life of prayer, Biblical study, and exemplifying Christian character. They also are highly involved in liturgy and are constant learners of the practices of the 21st Century Kid. The Biblical foundation upon which the PIA rest is Joshua 4:19-24. Joshua 4:19-24 (King James Version), 19. And the people came up out of Jordan on the tenth day of the first month, and encamped in Gilgal, in the east border of Jericho. 20. And those twelve stones, which they took out of Jordan, did Joshua pitch in Gilgal. 21. And he spake unto the children of Israel, saying, When your children shall ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What mean these stones? 22. Then ye shall let your children know, saying, Israel came over this Jordan on dry land. 23. For the LORD your God dried up the waters of Jordan from before you, until ye were passed over, as the LORD your God did to the Red sea, which he dried up from before us, until we were gone over: 24. That all the people of the earth might know the hand of the LORD, that it is mighty: that ye might fear the LORD your God for ever.
